As the lead designer, I guided a small team in creating a buzz-worthy, highly wearable merch collection that expanded the CAVA-verse while staying true to the brand’s visual guidelines. Our focus was to develop trend-aware designs, playful copy, and product choices that genuinely resonated with CAVA’s flavor-obsessed community—especially at a time when fans love wearing merch from their favorite food brands across social and culture.
The resulting “Flavor Fanatics” collection brings CAVA’s iconic staples to life through evergreen, universally appealing pieces paired with a few unexpected, conversation-starting items. Together, the collection was crafted to drive PR, deepen brand connection, and perform strongly online, extending CAVA’s energetic spirit far beyond the restaurant. Ultimately, the client moved forward with revised versions of the designs, so the final released pieces differ from the original concepts I created.

This collection is for the fans, the fanatics, and the flavor-obsessed. Through an evergreen design approach with universal appeal (and a twist of humor), we wanted to bring the iconic staples the customers crave into a world of product and merch.
Our main goals of the collection were to expand the CAVA-verse, connect deeply with consumers, drive PR & buzz, and drive products with a strong POV.
The designs themselves are bold and typography-driven, with a kitschy twist. Pairing witty, humorous sayings with timeless, wearable products and a few buzz-worthy custom items designed to drive fans to the site.
Rejected Collections
We developed and presented three distinct collection themes. One centered on the idea of being truly CAVA-obsessed, imagining a home filled with branded essentials and cozy, home-driven merch. Another drew from a Greek-inspired souvenir shop—think airport trinkets, sunburnt vacation energy, and delightfully tacky mementos translated into apparel and gifts. While both directions were fun and conceptually strong, they ultimately felt either too niche or not expansive enough for CAVA’s first evergreen merch launch. The client was looking for a direction that captured the full spirit of the brand, which led us to the final “Flavor Fanatics” concept.
